Final project, Bezalel · 2026

Final Project at Bezalel.

The socio-geographic area known as “South Jerusalem” spans Katamon, Talbiya, the German Colony, Baka and Talpiot, and is widely considered by its locals to be a stronghold of liberal Judaism.

Through subjective maps and diagrams, my project explores the processes, phenomena, and communities that make this area what it is. These maps speak the internal language of the South Jerusalem religious “bubble.” They are meant to hold up a mirror to the community. With a touch of critique, but infused with plenty of humor and love, this project seeks to celebrate this wonderful phenomenon. Even if you didn't grow up inside this bubble, I invite you to step inside and gradually learn its language.

In memory of Yuval Shoham, Hersh Goldberg-Polin, and Aner Shapira.
